We got Marvel, we got DC, we got Tom Cruise and Vin Diesel with their seemingly immortal franchises. A certain whip-swinging archaeologist makes a long-awaited return and the most devastating assassin of all time that’s not an actual ninja (as far as we know). The next year is shaping up to be action packed when it comes to the silver screen so here are the most anticipated movies for 2023. Not only that but we brought you as many trailers as we could find for them.
DC Universe Most Anticipated Movies for 2023
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (December)
Featuring one of the most charismatic actors in Hollywood right now, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom follow the continuation of our favorite non-performance-drugs-using swimmer and his adventures. And Jason Momoa himself pitched the idea for the sequel so take a look at the teaser.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods (March)
The first part was a lot of fun and we can’t wait to see the second one. Featuring a lot of kids and adults with superpowers, Shazam! Fury of the Gods is definitely one of the most anticipated movies for 2023.
The Flash (June)
After his appearance in Batman vs Superman, Justice League, Suicide Squad and even Arrow, the scarlet speedster gets his own standalone movie. Unfortunately, there’s still not enough footage to stitch up a whole trailer and we have to be patient for this one.
Black Canary (TBD)
It’s kind of a similar story with Black Canary. It’s from the DC Universe , appeared in Birds of Prey with Margot Robbie and now she gets her own movie. Jurnee Smollet in the starring role for Dinah Lance aka the Black Canary. Still no footage and even no release date but we know it’s sometime next year…
Blue Beetle (August)
Blue Beetle will be played by one of the young actors from the TV show Cobra Kai. We are sure Xolo Maridueña will make Blue Beetle fans proud with his performance. The kid knows karate but there is no official teaser or trailer so we have to be satisfied with a photograph.
MCU’s Most Anticipated Movies for 2023
Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 (May)
The characters appear in two standalone movies, a Christmas Special and even in the Avengers. This is the last installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy and it will be bitterswweet. For me personally, this is the most anticipated movie for 2023. Star Lord and his ragtag band of mercenaries will guard the galaxy against The High Evolutionary. Adam Warlock makes an appearance (finally!) so this is sure to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year and it even has an official trailer.
Ant-man and The Wasp Quantumania (February)
Is this Ant-man 3 or Ant-man and the Wasp 2? I have no idea… Either way it’s guaranteed to be seat filler in cinemas as we get introduced to the main Marvel Universe baddie in this one. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Scott Land and Hope Pym will face Kang the Conqueror! Do you even remember how exciting it got the first time we got to see Thanos?! Oh yeah!
Captain Marvel 2: The Marvels (July)
Yes! Marvel’s Supermanwoman Captain Marvel returns in The Marvels. This time, Carol Danvers’ got a friend in Ms Marvel and others from the TV show. No official trailer but it’s bound to be an amazing superhero action movie.
Spider-man: Across the Spider-verse (June)
The first part Into the Spider-verse had great success and even inspired Spider-man No Way Home to bring together all three silver screen Spider-men. We got a first-look kind of thing instead of a trailer but it looks amazing!
Kraven the Hunter (October)
Kraven the Hunter is a lesser known Marvel character and will be portrayed by somebody who already appeared as another character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Yes, Scarlet Witch’s brother Quicksilver is back in the cinematic universe… or the actor who played him is… not confusing at all, Marvel. Anyway, Aaron Taylor-Johnson will play his second Marvel character, Kraven the Hunter next year and we can’t wait to see it. No footage yet…
Most Anticipated Adventure Movies for 2023
Dune 2 (November)
If this isn’t one of the most anticipated movies for 2023, I don’t know which one is! The book is a groundbreaking piece of writing almost 60 years later and the movie turned out to be the spectacular as well. We can’t wait for the culmination of Paul Atreides’ story on the silver screen. This is cinema must-watch for next year. We got a teaser too:
Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (March)
One of the most beloved role-playing games of all time gets its own standalone movie that has the budget to rent a Led Zeppelin song! They’re a team of thieves… well, take a look at the trailer below
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (June)
Yes, our favorite archaeologist is back for more in the fifth movie of the franchise! Because Harrison Ford comes back to lead another great action movie in his career. We don’t care how old he is, dude is a timeless legend. If you disagree, just wait until you hear that score again and it takes you right back!
Transformers Rise of the Beasts (June)
Not another one of those, am I right, but there’s a reason they’re making more and more, it’s because we keep watching them! This franchise has made over 2 trillion dollars and Rise of the Beasts will be the seventh movie of the franchise. Optimus and Bumblebee are back to fight the beasts. Who are the beasts? We will find out in June 2023!
Most Popular Action Movies for 2023
John Wick 4 (March)
Yes! The dog defender is back! John Wick has such a cult following so it is sure to be one of the most anticipated movies for 2023. Keanu Reeves hit gold with this franchise as the fans can’t get enough sequels. Number four will be out in March of next year. Here’s a video:
Fast X (May)
Vin Diesel and his family are back with his Fast and Furious franchise. Can you believe this is movie number ten in the series? Neither do we but here they come again and after all, the car stunts are sure to impress us all next year in May.
Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1 (July)
Tom Cruise is not messing around and he has a new MI movie coming out, but it’s also a part 1 of something. Dead Reckoning Part 1 continues Ethan Hunt’s adventures and he’s accompanied by his team. Take a look at the trailer for the seventh movie in the franchise and enjoy.
Expendables 4 (September)
I don’t care what you say but The Expendables franchise is one of the most fun franchises for anybody growing up in the 90s like me and before that. I used to love action movies with Stallone, Schwarzenegger and Van Damme so they’re back with the fourth installment in the franchise.
