We’ve seen him shoot down many dreams but we’ve never actually seen him take a risk himself. Well here you go folks, Simon Cowell shows that he actually has what it takes to succeed as a singer… or something else is afoot here? Let’s find out!
Simon Cowell popularized the talent show format across the world
Simon Cowell has been terrorizing talent show participants for decades now, and despite all the hate he gets, he is still a mainstay at the talent shows in both his native Britain and in the USA. So what gives? Well, first of all, it was his idea! He was just another TV producer in England when he and Simon Fuller pitched a talent TV show on ITV. The show was Pop Idol, the year was 2001 and he’s never looked back since then.
He’s been a mainstay on “America’s Got Talent” since 2006 and “Britain’s Got Talent” since 2007. He’s done “The X-Factor UK” in two stints since 2004 and “The X-Factor US” for 3 years. Add to that the “Pop Idol” that started it all and “American Idol” and you have one very successful TV personality. But that’s not all, Simon Cowell also produces music and has his own British entertainment company called Syco. Let’s not comment on how much the name reminds us of his comments when he is on the judges panel.
Simon has produced music for many British pop stars such as Little Mix, James Arthur, Leona Lewis, Olly Murs as well as the magnificent Susan Boyle. Who can forget her appearance on “Britain’s Got Talent”.
Simon Cowell never actually shows if he has any singing talent
All of his success with producing these TV shows and music albums and yet, we never see him show if he has any. Indeed Simon is famous for turning dreams into nightmares for most of the contestants on his TV shows. But the people who actually show some talent become stars and this is precisely why his tough love has made him such a hugely influential person. He was one of the most influential people on the planet twice by “Time” magazine and the Daily Telegraph put him on the list of most powerful people in British culture.
So why doesn’t Simon ever sing? Well, because he can’t, obviously. But he sure can spot a talent! So one of the contestants of the previous “America’s Got Talent” teamed up with two tech guys and they created something unbelievable. It is so incredibly outlandish that even Simon Cowell can’t believe his eyes. I will let you watch the video and discover for yourselves.
