Another cat stereotype crushed! When you see this feline fellow chilling on a surfboard in the middle of the ocean, you will know what we’re talking about. This cat LOVES surfing those Hawaii waves and accompanied by his human parents, that’s exactly what he does all the time. I’ve never seen a cat look so comfortable on any board in the water, let alone a surfboard! And not only that, but he also jumps in the water and swims around, absolutely flabbergasting for a cat!
“When we started catching waves he would walk up to the nose and hang out out there”
Well, his name is Hokule and he is the only surf-loving cat in the world… maybe. He was rescued and taken in from Humane Society. His human mother saw him and fell in love with him at first sight. Hoku was very shy at the beginning and just hid anywhere he could. After a while the cat would show his trust and love for his human parents and he would follow them everywhere. Most cats would probably stop at the shower, but not our Hoku, he loved showers! In fact, he loved water so much, he would go outside when it was raining instead of hiding like a normal cat.
“Let’s go, Hoku! It’s raining”
So after he started willingly jumping into pools, his human parents decided Hokule is ready for the real world. They tried to find a beach that isn’t too windy and waves not too wild before they let him join them on a beach adventure. This amazing cat loved the sand and the moving water and started exploring instantly. Hoku could swim easily without taking any classes (like some of us). Before long, Hoku would start jumping in the water and swimming towards his human mother. Hawaii is beautiful and knowing there’s a cat who loves surfing there makes it even more attractive now.
